Mubashir Niaz, Founder of the NGO HEED and the driving force of the Water for the World™ projects in Pakistan died in a tragic accident in the Neelum Valley region of northern Pakistan on Saturday 31st of August.

Mubashir Niaz, Founder of the NGO HEED and the driving force of the Water for the World™ projects in Pakistan died in a tragic accident in the Neelum Valley region of northern Pakistan on Saturday 31st of August. A Samaritan at heart, Mubashir touched the hearts of many for his enormous passion and energy in helping people in Pakistan in the aftermath of the devastating 2005 earthquake and 2010 floods in northern Pakistan. Mubashir was such a great personality, helping to bring people together with his endless enthusiasm, technical expertise, creativity and humour.

His willingness to assist others in need is an example to us all. During his lifetime he did so much to help people in need and even on his last day,he was inaugurating a new river crossing and school in the Neelum Valley region of his native Pakistan where HEED undertook most of their projects. He will be forever inspire our thoughts. In memory of Mubashir, we at Borouge have named the Neelum Valley humanitarian flood victim project in his great name – The Mubashir Niaz project.
